Known as Talad Rom Hub, the Maeklong Railway Market is famous for its unique setting along an active railway track. Vendors set up stalls directly on the rails and quickly pack up when a train approaches, only to resume selling moments after it passes.

While the market operates from 7 am to 5 pm, the ideal time to visit is when the trains pass through. Throughout the day, there are a total of 6 train crossings at 8:30 am, 9 am, 11:15 am, 11:30 am, 2:30 pm, and 3:30 pm. Arriving at 8:15 am or 11 am allows you to witness two trains passing in close succession.
To assist you in selecting the best departure time from Hua Hin or Bangkok to arrive at Maeklong in time to see the passing trains, please note the following:
- The travel time from Hua Hin to Maeklong is approximately 2 hours.
- The travel time from Bangkok to Maeklong is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

How to Request Stopovers
At Hua Hin Cab, we understand the importance of tailoring your journey to suit your interests. To request stopovers, simply include your desired locations in the “Special Request” section of our online reservation form. Each stopover incurs an additional charge of 300-500 baht, depending on the detour distance, and includes up to two hours of waiting time.
Important! Please inform us about any stopovers when making your booking or at least one day before your trip. As a pre-booked service, our drivers operate on a tight schedule and may not be able to accommodate last-minute requests for sightseeing or dinner stops. In most cases, they have other customers waiting for pick-up at the destination. Thank you for your understanding.
